We'll probably be getting the Steam Machine since at the moment we have a 10-year-old PC connected to the TV and it would be a great upgrade from that. π But let's see about those prices...
It's interesting how you called it the Gabecube! That name is so perfect. Your point about the 'shift into more console/PC hybrids' is super insightful. That's a totall game changer for the hardware scene. Makes 2026 sound incredibly exciting. I'm hyped!
I wish the Gabecube was my idea but tons of people said it Day 1 lol. And yea the Steam Deck like the Switch helped changed the game of how we play and itβs looking good!
The Stream Machine is what most excited me. I don't have a Steam Dekc but have always wanted one. I was close to getting one a few months ago but was waiting for the Xbox Rog Aly X. That is way to expensive for only playing cloud games. So, I'll wait for the Steam Machine.
The controller interests me the most at the moment. I wonder if it works on any laptop too? It looks like a good design that seems suited to PC gaming, clearly the Steam Deck taught them some good lessons.
I'll watch how the Steam Machine works out, I already have a decent gaming laptop so not going to outright buy one, but I'm interested in seeing how it sells and how popular it will become.
Iβm close behind you on my gaming end goal and wants.
So I am also very interested in the steam controller. Iβm not sure if Iβll get it day one but Iβm interested.
I wish the announcement had been 2 months earlier and maybe I would be counting the days towards the GabeCube. My gadget mind wants it but I donβt need it but maybe the living room does need it!? Iβll see closer to the time.
I just got into a bit of retro gaming this weekend on a TrimUI brick to look at Gameboy to Gameboy advance games. So Iβm close to reaching my end game too! Haha!

I believe it'll work on a laptop just like any other controller. Just not sure how optimized it will be.

Oh nice job the emulation! I feel ya on the gadget mind. Thereβs never a need, but I love it when new tech is announced. Itβs like cars to me lol.
Let me know if you get the cube!
